This playthrough started out as a test playthrough I did to test out stuff with custom firmwere on my 3DS. But since I did some things, I thought I might as well document it! So here we are!
Planning/Backstory:
So, 12/24/20, at about 3 AM, I tried installing TwilightMenu++ for my 3DS. I took a few roms I had laying around and put them on my SD card and the first one to show up on the list was a rom for Pokemon Diamond. So I booted it up. I was talking to a friend of mine, Glitch, when I was setting this up. So the rival got named after him. I asked him for his favorite starter, got Turtwig, and so I picked Piplup as mine so the rival would have Turtwig. The rom went smoothly. So then I realized "wait...I always wanted to write about my playthroughs...why not do it on the website?" So that's what I did. I later made a team plan for this playthrough and after a few days, I got to working on this playthrough.
Sometime before New Years:
I don't fully recall when I played again. I knew I did at some point, though. I forgot why. I forgot to mention I caught a shinx at some point. I saw a few that I kept running away from, thinking I'll catch a better one (one had "the wrong gender" and the other didn't have Rivalry) I asked another friend to name her but they didn't say anything for about two hours. So she was blessed with the name Cables. In her first battle, which was against a wild, most likely level 2 bidoof, she missed her tackle. I made sure to never forget that.
Before Cables' birth and the day I started the file, I tried fighting the rival and got my ass kicked. Oh well.
1/8/21:
Now that I moved this page, I decided to pick this game up again since it'll be easy to update this!
I remember what I did now; I left off in Route 204, and I gave Empress a mail:
"Do you know where I am?
Hello!
STRANGENESS!
HE-HE-HE, right?
-Alex."
Decided to play a bit while rping with the friend who I asked to name Cables. Cables is level 7 while Empress is level 11. I think this might be good to challange the rival.
Glitch sent out his starly and out went Cables. He used Quick Attack and Cables Leered. Then another Quick Attack and then a Growl. Cables kept ramming her body into the dumb bird until she was at 6 hp. I then sent out Empress and she got Quick Attacked. She Bubbled him twice and he went down. Cables leveled up.
Kept Empress in and out went the turtwig. She Growled and he Withdrawed. Like with Cables, she kept ramming herself (Pound) at the turtle as he kept Withdrawing into a shell that is barely even there. He Tackled twice alongside the Withdrawing. I knew this was a bit much; how many times did he Withdraw now? So she Bubbled. Didn't do anything, really. Back to Tackling. He Tackled one last time before he went down.
Rival Glitch was defeated!
I ran to the PokeCenter and then ran off to look for a wurmple or zubat. After a bit, I found a male, level 4, zubat in the Ravaged Path. Finally, the first male of the team! Cables rammed her body into it a few times (Tackled about two times) and then threw my one Premier Ball and he was caught. He got the name Repel, after the item you should have if you enter caves in the Pokemon World.
Quiet nature.
A little quick temptered.
Likes dry food.
I ran out of the Path/cave and went on with my journey. I beat the shit out of a few kids, changed settings (turned off battle animations and changed to set), killed a bird, got a crit on a kid's cricket for an easy kill (good job, Empress!), and ran into a cave. I avoided the trainers inside, knowing my mons needed healing. I also can't stick to my own rule of having repels in caves because I don't recall being able to get one before now. Only had one encounter, though. Decided to call it quits here. So far...
Repel is Level 6
Empress is Level 12
Cables is Level 9.
1/12/21:
I'm back. Well uh...onto the playthrough.
I'm in the route I labeled "the Ponyta route" in my head because that's the most noteworthy thing I can remember. It's Route 207. I think Empress can take on the gym and other battles related to the gym (the mines place). But Repel is staying up in the front so he can get some exp.
First encounter was a female geodude. She's long dead due to Empress's Bubble. I then got into a battle that nearly sweeped my team. I eventually threw Repel back out and he used Supersonic a few times, hoping to get that machop confused and to kill itself. It eventually worked! I ran back to the PokeCenter. I then ran to the Mart and found it: Tunnel Mail.
"This ZUBAT is
NICE, isn't it?
My head's filled with only
ZUBAT now!
Let's BALL!
-Alex.
I then went back to challange people and kill rocks in the mines. Once I left the mines, I quit for the day. Depression kinda just...began hitting me because of the news mom always watches and that I don't really have anyone else to talk to about this. And I forgot to listen to stuff with my headphones and my brain is punishing me.
To be continued...
